With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Adelaide Viveiros DeFaria, 95. She peacefully passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at home in Fall River, MA. She was the widow of Laurenio Pavao DeFaria. Mrs. DeFaria was born in Pilar Da Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Jose Viveiros and Virginia Mauricio Cordeiro. She traveled the world living in various countries, finally settling her later years in Fall River and Portugal. Adelaide touched many lives and will be greatly missed. She will forever be remembered. Survivors include 2 daughters: Maria de Fatima Farias of Fall River; Eduarda DeFaria Ferreira of Lisbon, Portugal; Dennis Farias of New Bedford, who was like a son to her; 2 sisters: Cremilde Viveiros; Zelia Viveiros in the Azores. 5 Grandchildren: Gina; Nelson; Richard; Marcia; Michele and 7 great grandchildren. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be held, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Her burial will be held in St. Michael, Azores. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations that will be used towards flowers for her burial in the Azores.
