FALL RIVER... Alan J. Mello, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at St. Anne's Hospital.

A lifelong resident of the city, Alan was born to Barbara Kice of Fall River and the late Alan G. Mello. He was the beloved companion of Courtney Croteau of Fall River.

Alan worked as a machinist for Quaker Fabrics. He was known as an avid sports fan, particularly of the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. Alan loved to spend time at the beach, taking long walks along the shore. He enjoyed going out to concerts and hanging out with friends. Mostly, Alan was a kind, good natured man who was loved by many for his heart of gold.

In addition to his mother and companion, Alan is survived by his sister, Tammy Mello and her fiance, Sean Kelly, of Fall River, MA. He was predeceased by his brother, the late Brandon St. Pierre.

Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11 AM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA 02723 followed by interment in Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River, MA. Visitation will take place from 9-11 AM in the funeral home prior to the service.
