Alda Maria (Cabral) Carreiro, 71, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River.
Born on November 14, 1954, in Água Retorta, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Defr Cabral and Teresa Martins Medeiros Cabral.
Alda was the beloved wife of the late Dorvalino Pereira Carreiro, who passed away on January 3, 2026. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished memories, building a family rooted in the traditions and values of their Portuguese heritage.
A longtime resident of Fall River, Alda maintained a special connection to her Azorean roots and the community she called home. She will be lovingly remembered for the place she held in the hearts of her family and those who knew her. Her memory will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.
Alda was the loving mother of Luis Carreiro and his wife, Thelma, of Fall River, and the late Tracy Carreiro. She was the cherished grandmother of Larissa Carreiro. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and extended family members throughout the United States and Água Retorta, Azores, Portugal.
Alda's passing, just months after that of her beloved husband, brings sorrow to those who loved them both. Their memories will forever remain a treasured part of their family's story.
Friends and Family and all those whose lives were touched by Alda are cordially invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life on Friday, November 6, 2026. Visiting hours will be held from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Southcoast Funeral Homes, inside the Ferreira Chapel, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts.
Following Visitation, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Bedford Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, where family and friends will come together in prayer and thanksgiving for Alda's life.
Following the Funeral Mass, Alda will be laid to rest beside her late husband Dorvalino at Oak Grove Cemetery, 765 Prospect Street, Fall River, Massachusetts.
All are warmly welcomed to join the family in honoring Alda's memory and offering their prayers, love, and support during this time of remembrance.
