Alvaro
Costa
Sep 9, 1971 — Jan 16, 2025
Alvaro Costa, born on the 9th of September, 1971 in the quaint village of Ponta Garca, Portugal, lived a life that was simple yet vibrant, filled with hard work, love, and an undying spirit of adventure. A truck driver by profession, Alvaro found joy in the open road, the changing landscapes, and the opportunities each journey presented. As Walt Whitman once said, "I take to the open road, healthy, free, the world before me." For Alvaro, the road was his canvas, and he painted it with the hues of his life.
Alvaro moved to Tiverton, Rhode Island, where he made his home and built a life that was as beautiful and expansive as the horizons he loved to chase. A dedicated son, he was the pillar of strength for his mother, Maria Costa, and proudly carried on the legacy of his father, the late Edward Costa. Alvaro was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes about his character. He was a testament to the truth in the saying, "A man is defined by his actions, not his words."
In remembrance of Alvaro, a private graveside service was held. While his physical presence will be deeply missed, the memories of Alvaro's life will endure. It is said that "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." Alvaro lived his life creating these breathtaking moments, and left us all with unforgettable memories.
Let us keep Alvaro's spirit alive by sharing memories and photos on his memorial page. Remember him not with sadness, but with the joy and warmth he brought into our lives. As we navigate the road of life, let's carry a piece of Alvaro with us, ever reminding us of the beauty of the journey, not just the destination.
