It is with deep affection and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angelica Vazquez, or "Angie" as she was lovingly known to many, on April 28, 2026. Born in the vibrant city of San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 5, 1953, Angelica was the embodiment of love, laughter, and the zest for life. A woman of impeccable strength, intelligence, and an unmatched sense of humor, she was the heart and soul of her family, and the light that brightened every room. Her incredible journey of life took her from Puerto Rico to New Bedford, Massachusetts, where she spent 41 years before finally settling in Fall River.

Angie was a woman of many talents, her creativity evident in her career in ceramics manufacturing. Her passion for her work was only matched by her love for her family, her plants, and her beloved dog, Oppie. She had an uncanny knack for making people feel loved and welcomed, a testament to her loving personality. Angelica was also an amazing cook, her dishes being the highlight of every holiday gathering. Her grandchildren fondly remember her saying, "Cooking is love made visible," a quote that perfectly captures her essence.

Angelica leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She will be profoundly missed by her daughters Johana Vazquez and Janet (Francisco) Vazquez, her son Jose (Lisa) Vazquez, her sister Doris Vega, her grandchildren Anthony (Destinie) Sousa, Pedro Sousa, Genesis Pavao, Audriana Pavao, and Arabella Vazquez and great-grandson Lincoln Sousa. She also leaves behind many beloved and cherished nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jose Vazquez, and her sister Zulieka Almodovar.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a graveside service which will be held in Angelica's honor on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10:30 am at the Rural Cemetery, 149 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts, 02740.

In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Angie made us all feel loved, and for that, she will remain unforgettable.
