Obituary

Anthony R. Lima, age 84 of Fall River, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at home on August 3rd, 2025.

He was born to the late Loretta Thomas in New Bedford, Massachusetts on June 6th, 1941. Anthony, (Red and Tony to his friends) attended New Bedford Schools, and worked his way up from an employee at Brittany Dye and Printing in New Bedford to a Master Fabric Colorist at Swan Finishing in Fall River where he met many colleagues and long lasting friends.

He was a friend to all, but mostly as a loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather and brother. Anthony is preceded by his late daughter, Celia, sisters Faith Lynn, and Cheryl and his late brother Jimmy.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lima and Shawn Medeiros. He also leaves behind with great memories his sister Debra, sister Barbara Hall, brother Vincent D'Oliveira and his wife Eileen. Brothers, Mike and Ed Lima. His grandchildren, Kevin Medeiros, and Sarah Medeiros, and Great Grandchildren, RJ and Sage. Also his cousins Sharon Avila, Coleen Rock, Rod, and many cousins, nieces and nephews who hold a special place in his heart.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14th, 2025, from 04:00 PM - 07:00 PM at the Southcoast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts.

A Catholic Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15th, 2025 at the Southcoast Funeral Home at 10:30 AM, which will be presided over by Father Michael Racine. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1213 Kempton Street, New Bedford, MA 02745.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jimmy fund in his honor and name.
