Aura
Patricio
Jan 12, 1940 — Jan 4, 2026
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of the beloved Aura Patricio on January 4, 2026.
Born in the scenic island of São Miguel, Azores, Portugal on January 12, 1940, Aura was a radiant beacon of light and love, illuminating the lives of all who had the fortune to know her. She had migrated to Fall River, Massachusetts in 1995.
Aura was the daughter of the late Francisco Mota and Teresa Costa Mota of the Azores.
Aura is survived by her daughter Susana Margarita Mota Vieira, son Roberto Carlos Mota Vieira and his partner Michelle Pereira, and Maria Fatima Mota Vieira who predeceased her. She had 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, she enjoyed cooking, watching soap operas, her favorite color was purple and she had worked until her retirment at the Textile Factory in Fall River.
Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation which will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026 08:30 AM - 09:30 AM at Southcoast Funeral Home, inside of the Ferreira Chapel, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, 2nd Street, Fall River and a Committal Service at 11:15 am at the Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road, Fall River.
As we remember Aura, let us not mourn her departure, but celebrate the extraordinary life she led. To paraphrase Helen Keller, "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." We invite you to leave memories and upload photos to Aura's memorial page, as we collectively remember the extraordinary woman she was.
