NEW BEDFORD ... Barry L. Constant, 65, of New Bedford passed away, Monday, January 9, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital.

He was born in New Bedford, the second son born to the late Louis and Rowenna (Stamo) Constant and had lived in the Dartmouth-New Bedford area all of his life. Barry was a well-respected diesel mechanic on the waterfront with a specialty in GM motors. Mr. Constant enjoyed camping, tinkering and being a social butterfly. He was renowned for his quick wit and sarcasm among his friends and family. He was generous and kind hearted towards those in need.

Survivors include 2 sons: Brian L. Constant of Dartmouth; Barry J. Farias of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter Hailey Constant of New Bedford; a brother Dennis Constant and his spouse Jeannette Constant of New Bedford; 3 sisters: Rosemary Constant-Kay and her spouse Robert Kay of Dartmouth; Darlene Parandelis and her spouse Michael Parandelis of Dartmouth; Debra Kane and her spouse Mark Kane of Attleboro; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Melissa Carvalho and brother Chris Constant.

A celebration of life will take place January 20, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. at KnuckleHeads Sports Bar, 85 MacArthur Dr., New Bedford, MA 02740
