Brenda Cropper a woman of resilience, kindness, and strength passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital following injuries she had received during the tragic Gabriel House Fire in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Brenda was a woman of quiet strength, radiant warmth, and unwavering generosity. Though life handed her more than her fair share of hardships, she met each day with a smile, a spark of sass, and a spirit full of love. She found joy in the simple things—whether it was a good word search puzzle, a festive Christmas tree, or a cold Coke Zero paired with a Devil Dog.

She was a devoted mother to four children, a proud grandmother, a beloved daughter, sister, and niece. Family meant everything to Brenda, and she poured her love into each of these roles with fierce loyalty and a tender heart. She formed strong bonds and never hesitated to offer support, encouragement, or a laugh when it was needed most.

Brenda had a special bond with animals and a flair for fashion. Her favorite color was purple—a hue she wore boldly and joyfully, reflecting her vibrant personality. She loved having her hair and nails done, cherishing those moments of self-care as expressions of both beauty and resilience.

Her personality was unforgettable—feisty, funny, and unapologetically herself. She liked who she liked and never apologized for it. Brenda formed genuine connections with people, guided by instinct and heart. At Gabriel House, where she resided in recent years, she touched many lives, including a fellow resident named Bob, who sweetly serenaded her with "Peaceful Easy Feeling" by the Eagles—a moment that lit up the room and captured her unique charm.

Christmas was her favorite time of year, a season that matched her joy and generosity. She loved its music, decorations, and spirit of giving, which mirrored how she lived every day.

Even after a devastating fire that displaced her daughter, Brenda—despite having very little herself—immediately asked how she could help. That was simply who she was: always giving, always caring.

Though she faced mobility challenges in her later years and longed to regain her independence, she never lost her sense of hope. And while she was a victim of the Gabriel House fire, that tragedy does not define her. Brenda will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unshakable light.

In her final act of compassion, Brenda donated her organs—offering life to others even in her passing. Her legacy is one of love in action.
