BOSTON ... Carlos M. Arruda,61, of Fall River passed away, Monday, September 11, 2023, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Lucia (Sousa) Arruda. Carlos was born in Angra do Heroismo, Terceira, Azores, a son of the late Manuel and Maria (DeCosta) Arruda and had lived in Fall River since 1975. Mr. Arruda enjoyed music, computers, caring for his dog and playing games. Survivors include 2 daughters: Kristie Viveiros of Fall River; Jessica Arruda of Dudley, a son Walter Arruda of Fall River; MA; 5 sisters: Margaret DeCosta of Swansea; Lucia Grilo of Canada; Isabel Martins of Somerset; Ana Sousa of Swansea; Maria Medeiros of Fall River; 2 grandchildren: Adrien; Raiden; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, September 25, 2023, at 7 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723. Memorial visitation will be held Monday from 5 - 7 PM, prior to the service.
