Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carlos Travassos, who left this world unexpectedly, surrounded by his loved ones, on September 16, 2025.

Born with a gift for working with both his hands and his heart, Carlos could coax life from the soil and was never happier than when tending his garden. A man of many talents, he could build, repair, and restore almost anything—his craftsmanship lives on in the statues and creations that quietly bear witness to his skill and care.

Above all, Carlos was devoted to his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Eduarda Travassos, who preceded him in passing on October 12, 2015. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strength—a legacy that continues to blossom through their family.

Carlos is survived by his loving mother, Virginia Travassos; his children, Amanda, Jessica, and Joshua Travassos; and his cherished grandchildren, Scarlett Ferreira and Serenity Travassos. He is also survived by his siblings, Jose Travassos, Helena Benjamin, Maria Sousa, Sofia Soares, Gil Travassos, Silverio Travassos, and Grace Travassos, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Jose Travassos. His love, devotion, and the gifts of his hands and heart will continue to live on in all of them.

He will be remembered always for his boundless talents, his deep devotion to family, and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. And now, at last, he walks once more beside his beloved Eduarda—hand in hand, together again, where love never ends.
