Carmelo Gonzalez, of Fall River passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 17, 2025
Carmelo was born on September 10, 1951, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. He departed from this world on December 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and zest for life. The words of Maya Angelou resonate profoundly as we remember Carmelo, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Carmelo's life journey brought him from the vibrant landscapes of Puerto Rico to the bustling streets of Fall River, Massachusetts. Carmelo was a beacon of strength and courage, inspiring those around him with his unyielding spirit and contagious smile. He lived his life to the fullest, spreading joy and positivity wherever he went.
Carmelo loved to collect cars, he loved jeeps, he enjoyed working in cars. He was a true mechanic he loved going to the junkyard and the dealerships looking at cars and he like to spend time with his family.
"Daddy, your absence leaves a quiet ache, but your life built a legacy of unwavering strength and love that continues to guide our family. You taught us resilience and the importance of always putting family first, and your spirit lives on in every one of us. We'll forever cherish your booming laugh, your patient wisdom, and the solid foundation you gave us, promising to keep your memory vibrant and honor the incredible man you were. You will forever be our Angel".
Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation which will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Southcoast Funeral Home, inside of the Ferreira Chapel 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the same venue presided over by Chaplain and Life Celebrant Ines Bates. Carmelo will be flown home to Puerto Rico for burial in his family cemetery.
We invite all those who knew Carmelo to come and share their memories, stories, and experiences of this wonderful man whose legacy will continue to inspire. We encourage friends and loved ones to leave memories and upload photos to Carmelo's memorial page. This will not only provide comfort but also serve as a tribute to a life beautifully lived.
