Carol Shing was born on September 8, 1944, Carol Diane Washburn in the town of Lakeville Massachusetts where she grew up with her parents; Robert and Veronica (Small) Washburn and siblings; Randall, Gail, Sharon, Cheryl and Nancy.

She had attended Assawompsett and Apponoquet high school. She married William P. Shing, also from Lakeville in January of 1964 and they had 3 children; Corinne Rego, Jennifer Shing and William L. Shing.

She spent many years living in Florida, retiring in 2006 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, but moved back in April 2024 to be with her family. She has 6 grandchildren; Tara Oldro, John Oldro, Jr., Caili Oldro, Melissa Sparrow, Sarah Buote and Jade Shing.

Carol has 4 great grandchildren; Aidan Tagger, Kade Sparrow, Evelynn Cabral and Logan Cabral.

Carol loved to feed the squirrels and birds and ferrel cats at her home in Florida. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends at Carvalho grove nursing home.
