Obituary

Alan (Cotello) Sorrentino passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026 at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River MA.

Alan was born in Providence RI on June 14, 1953. He attended La Salle Academy and the Museum School in Boston.

At an early age Alan demonstrated impressive artistic ability and during his lifetime utilized those skills as a visual artist, theater production designer, and florist.

He was a major contributor to the annual Providence Journal Follies for ten years contributing stage design, costumes, and lyrics to songs in the productions. He supported many major Rhode Island non-profits by designing the settings for annual galas and other fundraising events. His elaborate creation of striking Halloween costumes delighted everyone and led to his appearance on NBC's Today Show on in the 1990s.

Alan is remembered by his friends as creative, funny, loving, energetic and generous. Prior to falling ill, a year ago, he worked hard every day. He was predeceased by his husband Charlie Pagliuca.
