It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a remarkable man, Chester Weax Clark, affectionately known as "Chet." Born to Marvin Clark and Edith Parker on December 18, 1947, in Rocky Mount, NC. Chet's journey of life took him to various places before he finally settled in Fall River, Massachusetts. His life was a testament to the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."

Chet was a man of strength, intellect, and service. His time in the U.S. Army instilled in him a deep sense of commitment to his country and fellow veterans, a bond he carried into his later years, finding camaraderie and shared experience at his local Veterans Association of Bristol County. He was an active participant, not just in body but also in spirit, engaging in conversation and sharing his wealth of knowledge and experiences.

An extremely intelligent man and avid reader, Chet possessed a sharp mind and an endless curiosity about the world. He was strong and active well into his later years; and just as well known for his physical presence as for his voice. Chet loved to talk, to share stories, opinions and memories, and those conversations will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Family was central to Chet's life. He is survived by his sister Shane Bowman and his caring sister-in-law and caretaker Betsy Tirado. He is also survived by his cherished nieces India Bowman, Aninha Tirado, and Tamika Tirado, all of whom he played an active and meaningful role in raising. His influence on their lives was lasting, and his presence will always be felt in who they are today. His legacy also includes his son, Christopher Clark, a living testament to his life's journey and a treasured part of his life story.

Chet's life was a celebration of service, strength, intellect, and most importantly, love. He emanated a radiance that touched everyone's lives and left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live through shared stories, well worn books, and the many lives he helped shape. As we mourn the loss of Chet, let us remember the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Chet's spirit, his story, and the love he shared will forever live on in our hearts. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Interment will follow the visitation and be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne with United States Military Honors.
