It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Powers. Born Doris Bernadette Forcier, on June 2, 1940, in Fall River, MA.

She was the daughter of the late Leo and Helena Forcier. She was the widow of the late Gerard T. Powers, to whom she was married to for 50 years at the time of his passing in 2017.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy A. Marshall, husband Arthur, son Shaun K. Powers, grandsons, Kyle Powers, Owen Marshall and Liam Marshall. Also, her sisters, Annette Tino of Orlando, Fl., Claudette Santos, husband Edward of Swansea, Ma. and the late Clare Gagnon of Somerset, Ma., several nieces and nephews, who referred to her as "Aunt Dot".

Doris was a resident of Tiverton for well over 50 years. She spent most of her career as a secretary/book keeper, which began at Salvo's Potato Chip in Fall River, where she met her husband. She retired from the Tiverton Town Hall, where she worked in the Clerk's Office. Some of her interests were bowling, shopping, sewing, music and dancing.

After her retirement she enjoyed spending time at the Tiverton Senior Center, where she participated in many activities including knitting, crocheting and going out on social outings. Doris especially enjoyed attending Zumba class with friends. She also enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the birds and deer and chatting with her neighbors.

Doris was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a parishioner of St. Theresa's church in Tiverton for over 50 years.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial for Doris will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:00 am at St Theresa Catholic Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton, Rhode Island, 02878. The Committal Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
