It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dorothy Mae Bell, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully left this world on March 7, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on February 25, 1938, in Ramer, Alabama, Dorothy was the devoted daughter of Clifford and Johnnie Mae Berry.

Dorothy was a woman of profound faith and unwavering devotion, proudly serving as a Jehovah's Witness throughout her life. Her faith was a guiding light, shaping her values and inspiring those around her. She found great comfort and strength in reading the Bible, sharing its teachings with her family and friends.

Family was at the heart of Dorothy's life. She was a loving mother to five children: Willie Bell (Donnella Funches) of Atlanta, Georgia; Eugene Bell (Lauren Kydd-Bell) of Mystic, Connecticut; Diane Bell of Fall River, Massachusetts; Gary W. Bell of Conyers, Georgia; and Kenny Bell of Fall River. Her love for her children was boundless, and she took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments.

Dorothy's legacy continues through her nine beloved grandchildren: Isaiah, Quentin, Jazmine, Ryesia, Akeem, Janae, Justin, Gregory, and Xavier, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Derrick and Khaden. Each of them brought her joy and happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to her immediate family, Dorothy is survived by her loving niece, Brenda Jean Berry, and her three dear cousins, Ms. Bessie Pittman, Lula McClain, and Lillie Ruth Jones. She also leaves behind three devoted sisters-in-law, Ms. Ira Bell, Ms. Lelia Harris, and Lenora Berry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Dorothy had a zest for life that was evident in her many passions. She loved playing cards, cooking delicious meals for her family, and nurturing her beautiful plants. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family gatherings.

Though she has departed from this earthly realm, Dorothy Mae Bell's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable journey and the love she so generously shared.

Rest in peace, dear Dorothy. Your legacy of love, faith, and family will forever be cherished and remembered.

A Funeral Home Service and Celebration of Dorothy's life will follow inside of the funeral home at 03:00 PM.
