Dorothy
Jenness
Nov 18, 1945 — Dec 18, 2025
Dorothy B. Jenness passed away peacefully at Morton Hospital on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Dottie was born and raised in South Boston before moving to Dorchester to start a family.
She had 4 sons, Todd, Bobby, David, and Joey and moved to Hanson in 1976 to raise her children. As a single parent, she sacrificed everything to give her children a safe and secure home to be raised in.
She was a long time member of both the Bridgewater and Taunton congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses where she shared her faith and belief in God's kingdom as the only solution to man's problems and looked forward to a day where there would be no more sickness and death.
She is predeceased by her late parents Dorothy Furness of Prince Edward Island, Canada, and Bernard Tebeau of Boston. She came from a large family of 9 brothers and sisters.
She was particularly close to her sister and best friend Nancy Tebeau of South Boston along with her step children Debbie, Linda and Bo who she helped raise as her own. Dottie had many nieces and nephews, including John McLean and Jamie O'Bryan who loved and supported Aunt Dottie in her time of need along with her step great granddaughter Gianna Burns.
She had 7 grandchildren Kayla, Brendon, Amanda, Katelyn, Atley, Aiden, Evan and one great granddaughter, Amelia who she was able to meet and who has an unmistakable resemblance to her great grandmother. "Buzzy" loved and adored all her family and will be missed by all.
A private memorial will be held by the family.
We invite all who knew and loved Dorothy to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page. These stories and images will serve as a testament to Dorothy's wonderful spirit and the impact she had on those around her. Let us come together to celebrate the life of Dorothy Jenness - a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
