FALL RIVER... Edmond J. " Tootsie" Barrette, 89, of Fall River passed away March 30, 2023, at the Fall River Jewish Home. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Leonidas and Emerilda (St. Pierre) Barrette. He had been a lifelong resident of this city. Tootsie had enjoyed watching television and playing card games but above all else, he loved cats and spending time with his family. Survivors include his sister, Jacqueline Gillett of Fall River, along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Theresa Gillett. Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10 AM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723 followed by interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation will be held Monday from 9 - 10 AM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edmond's name can be made to Hands & Voices, www.handsandvoices.org. Hands & Voices is a parent-driven organization that supports families with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing without a bias around communication modes or methodology.
