Obituary

Eduardo Melo, 71, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, November 17th, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 4, 1954, in Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel, Açores, he was the cherished son of the late Manuel Vieira Melo and Deolinda Melo.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Eduardo leaves behind his beloved wife, Maria Melo, and his three children: Maria Morgado and her husband Peter Morgado, Eduarda Melo, and Kenneth Melo and his wife Samantha Melo. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Eduardo is survived by his three sisters, two brothers, and several adored nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Manuel Melo and his sister Teresa J. Silva, with whom he is now reunited.

From a very young age, Eduardo discovered a natural gift for working with wood. His craftsmanship was exceptional—every piece he created carried his signature attention to detail, care, and pride. Eduardo's love for his tools and machinery was unmistakable; he maintained them with the same dedication he brought to every corner of his life. He also found peace and happiness tending to his vegetable garden and keeping up with the home he worked so hard to build for his family.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation which will be held inside of the Ferreira Chapel at Southcoast Funeral Homes, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723, on Friday, November 21, 2025, 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

Following visitation a Portuguese Catholic Funeral Home Service will be held at 11:30 AM inside of the chapel presided over by Very Reverend Jeffrey Cabral. Committal Service will follow at 12:00 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery, 765 Prospect Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02720.
