Elaine Dorrance, a lifelong resident of Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away on November 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Attleboro on April 30, 1954, to Raymond and Edith Simoneau, Elaine devoted her life to her family, her business, and the community she loved. Elaine and and her husband Greg recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.

For more than five decades, they co-owned the local businesses Greg Dorrance Company with shipping across the USA and overseas. Frames by Elaine, a division of their business, became known for its exceptional custom picture framing, a testament to Elaine's artistry, dedication, and meticulous care. Elaine and Greg acquired many business over the years, Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers, Gene Webb rough-outs, Wood is Good Carving Kits, Irving's Craft Shop's "Colonial Tin Craft Trays", and Bob Morrow Trays, of which ended up at Scully & Scully and Gump's of San Francisco and the Smithsonian Museum gift shop.

Elaine's life was full of simple joys and creativity. She loved gardening, painting, and searching for unique antiques. She cherished teaching her grandchildren to play the piano and spending time working on puzzles. Eldest grandchild, Tyler, says fondest memory is sitting in the straw under the warm sun eating strawberries off the plants together. Kayla loved spending hot days in the garden then swimming in the pool. She also loved getting ice cream after being in the garden for hours. The raspberries are a memory well enjoyed too, which Kayla says always seemed to crack a smile. A committed member of the community, Elaine volunteered her time with kindness and support for numerous local events and organizations.

Elaine is survived by her beloved husband, Greg Dorrance; her daughters, Kimberly Noble and Kristen Hirsch; her son-in-law, Chris Hirsch; and her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Hirsch and Kayla Hirsch, Emma Noble and Joshua Noble. She also leaves behind her sisters, Barbara Liston, Dee Cortese, and Cindy Hogge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edith Simoneau, and her sister, Bettie Chabot.

Dr. Raufi conducts both laboratory and clinical research at Brown University and Lifespan Cancer Institute. His research interests include the development of novel immunotherapy combinations in gastrointestinal malignancies and the development of preventive strategies for gastrointestinal cancers. A private memorial service will be held after the holidays to celebrate her life.
