Elizabeth Antoinette Palmer, born on April 16, 1945, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, has left us to join the stars on March 8, 2025. She passed quietly at home with her husband Randy close by.

Known for her loving spirit, thoughtful nature, and resilience that could move mountains, Elizabeth was the embodiment of joy, love, and light to those who had the privilege of knowing her. A lifelong learner and educator, she devoted her life to the noble cause of education, using her intelligence to create a ripple effect of knowledge and wisdom. She was known for her smart wit, illuminating laughter, and a heart that held an ocean of love for everyone she met.

Elizabeth A. Palmer (aka Elizabeth A. Marx; nee Elizabeth A. Aiello) lived a full life. With her first husband E.K. Marx, who predeceased her early in 2000, she was the proud mother of two boys, now grown men, Eric K. Marx and Evan A. Marx. Eric and his wife Lauren blessed Elizabeth with two grandsons, Alex and Ryan, who will be entering high school later this year and who have become accomplished scholar-athletes, especially enthusiastic about basketball currently.

Elizabeth met her second husband, William R. Palmer ("Randy"), at a meditation retreat for Transcendental Meditation in New Hampshire around Thanksgiving 2003. Throughout their lives Elizabeth and Randy pursued their interest in meditation and spiritual philosophies, and also pursued study of the ancient Sanskrit language for a few years. They both formed many cherished friendships within the TM community. Elizabeth and Randy married in August, 2011 and set up housekeeping together in Tiverton at the beginning of January, 2012.

Elizabeth spent most of her life in Tiverton, Rhode Island, where she was a respected Reading Recovery Specialist, and an admired community member. Her career in education was much more than just a job; it was her passion and calling. She worked tirelessly, helping countless students overcome reading challenges and unlock their potential. Her dedication to her work was a reflection of her thoughtful nature and the strength of her character.

Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Aiello, both of whom were WWII veterans with the U.S. Navy. She is survived by her loving husband, her two sons, her two grandsons, and her five younger siblings, Virginia R. Dickson (nee Aiello), Mary E. Aiello, Joseph R. Aiello, John A. Aiello, and James R. Aiello. She is also survived by her many adored nieces and nephews, including Max (in memoriam), Catherine, Sheila, Shannon, Sara, Coral, Hayley, Cameron. Her resilience and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she has touched.
