Ellen
Rosenbaum
Dec 5, 1957 — Oct 9, 2026
Wareham, MA
Our Sister, Aunt, Friend, Colleague, Ellen Rosenbaum
A deeply beloved sister, aunt, sister-in-law, colleague, and friend. The most fun person in the family, always laughing, endlessly inventive, especially with Whit and Sam, her much loved grand nephews, who had the best times at her house. Her niece Rachel’s biggest theater fan, to whom Ellen embodied cool. A sister and best friend to Sara; the two could laugh endlessly at the smallest joke. The best mom to Davey. So warm and embracing that her friends span an entire lifetime and date back to nursery school. A person who made lifelong commitments to those she loved and cared for, unshakeable regardless of any curveball that came her way. A person committed to social justice and public health, deeply entwined with her community and her work colleagues over her amazing 45-year career. An artistic eye and soul, always finding the most wonderful treasures, which she used to decorate her equally wonderful home that was tiny and fun, just like Ellen.
Those who knew Ellen would recognize that when she entered a room, like a green plant, the oxygen level in the room increased. She had that effect on the world. Ellen’s passing leaves a hole of unimaginable size in our collective hearts.
