NEW BEDFORD...Fannie Belle Woodard, 70, of New Bedford, passed away June 30, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Andrew, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Emily Pryor and Leroy Woodard. She had been living in New Bedford for the past 16 years. Fannie was an amazing and loving mother; a wonderful woman who always made you laugh. As a devout Chistian, she enjoyed reading and writing verses from the Bible as well as going out, drawing, and caring for her beloved family. Survivors include her son, Robert Woodard of New Bedford; her daughter, Susan Morris of Fall River; her sisters: Linda Williams of Brockton, Stella Gorenstein of New York and Judy Strickland of North Carolina; her brother, Leroy Woodard of New York; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lenore Woodard and Jerome Woodard, grandmother of the late Jocelyn Woodard and sister of the late Margaret, Walter and Larry Woodard. A funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 6 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 4 - 6 PM, prior to the service. Cremation will follow.
