Obituary

With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Fidalga Gomes, born on March 15, 1927.

Born and raised in Cape Verde, Fidalga devoted her life to caring for others. Though not a professional nurse, she had a servant's heart and was always ready to help, comfort, and support anyone in need. Caring for people was simply who she was.

Alongside her beloved husband, Adelino Gomes, who passed away on September 16, 1997, she built a strong and loving family founded on faith, sacrifice, and unity. Determined to create opportunities for her children, she worked tirelessly to bring her family to America and later immigrated to the United States in 2000.

Fidalga loved God deeply and passed that faith on to future generations. She taught her family how to pray, trust in God, and value love, marriage, and togetherness. She expressed her love through her cooking, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering support for both family and strangers alike.

She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of 6 children, 45 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Her life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and unconditional love.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in God's promise:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7

Fidalga's love, faith, and influence will continue to live on through every generation she helped shape.

Rest peacefully, Fidalga Gomes. Reunited with your beloved husband, your legacy lives on in the countless lives you touched. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
