With a heart as vibrant as the gardens he tended, Flavio Feleja Couto, born on November 14, 2000, in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, left this world too soon on April 12, 2025.

His nurturing spirit and infectious laughter forever imprinted on those who had the privilege to know him. As the evergreen poet, Kahlil Gibran, once said, "Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky," and Flavio, with his love for landscaping, was indeed a poet in his own right.

Flavio's life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and community. While he may have been born overseas, his heart found its home amongst the rolling landscapes and warm community of Fall River, Massachusetts. His passion for the outdoors was reflected in his work as a landscaper, where coworkers and colleagues became more than just fellow employees – they became family. Each plant he nurtured, every lawn he tended, was a testament to a life lived with purpose and joy. In the words of Flavio's favorite poet, Fernando Pessoa, "To be great, be whole; Exclude nothing, exaggerate nothing that is not you. Be whole in everything. Put all you are into the smallest thing you do."

Flavio is survived by his loving parents, Jose Couto and Natalia Feleija. He will be repatriated to his home country of Portugal following his services here for a burial in his family community cemetery back home. His spirit lives on, not just in the people he touched but also in the landscapes he painstakingly cared for.

A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Southcoast Funeral Home from 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM located at 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723.
