It is with great sadness, we announced the passing of our Dad, Frank Avila, a loving and thoughtful gentleman, full of creativity and wit, who passed on May 13, 2026. Born on May 22, 1941, in the city of Providence, RI, Frank's journey through life was anything but dull. His wit could light up a room, and his thoughtful nature made him a comfort to those around him. Frank was a man who poured love into every corner of his life, from his family to his work and hobbies.

Frank was a master of many trades. As a Meat Cutter/Manager at Almacs Supermarkets, he carved a career that was more than just a job – it was a community of cherished friends and family. Whether woodworking, crafting grandfather clocks, or a rocking horse for his first grandchild, each of his creations was a testament to his dedication and love. His famous meatballs could make any mouth water, and his love for boating with friends and neighbors, fishing, golf, and the Red Sox and Patriots brought him endless joy. Some of his most favorite moments were spent summering with wife and children in New Hampshire. His zest for life was infectious, and his love for Christmas was legendary, decorating every room and playing Santa at one of the family parties.

Frank was a loving husband to his wife Sandra, of close to 60 years, and together they created a family that was his pride and joy. He is survived by his daughters, Darci (Dan) Acomb; Krissy (Rich) Sallustro and his grandchildren Erin, Kyle (Julie), Kayla (Brian) Hannah (Jordan), and his great-granddaughter Poppy, who all held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes Avila, and his beloved wife, Sandra.

Frank's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and countless memories. His love for his family, friends, and his faithful dog Amber, was a testament to his generous heart. He lived his life with a joyous spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew him. So, let us remember Frank not with sadness, but with the joy, laughter, and his occasional sarcasm he brought into our lives. He is now enjoying a Haines Park family outing with all who have gone before him.

Let's celebrate the life of this wonderful man, and keep his spirit alive in our hearts.
