It is with profound sorrow and many broken hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Bolieiro Borges, a remarkable soul whose infectious laughter and indomitable spirit touched many lives.

Born on July 30, 1985, in Fall River, MA, to Eduarda and Gil Bolieiro, Gary was a beacon of resilience and joy throughout his 39 years. As Maya Angelou beautifully said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Gary had a gift for making those around him feel loved and valued, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Gary had many joys in life, including his family, music, and his many favorite foods. Gary loved spending time with his mother in the kitchen making their favorite sweet bread.

Gary also loved his french curlers and surprising his family with them. Gary also found comedy from calling his 3 siblings "three papo secos" and stealing his younger siblings Halloween candy. He loved to dance and sing with his nieces and nephew regardless of where they were.

In his young life, Gary was a man of unwavering courage and strength, with a formidable spirit that refused to be dampened. Always the first to make light of a situation, Gary's sense of humor and radiant smile were his trademarks. He was a shining example that life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain. In the words of Albert Einstein, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile," and Gary lived his life embodying this ethos.

Gary is survived by his son Evan Bolieiro, mother and father Eduarda and Gil Bolieiro, sister Malvina Moniz and husband, sister Kayla Bolieiro and fiancé, brother Adam Bolieiro and wife, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, and many aunts and uncles.

His life will be celebrated on Friday, January 24, 2025, beginning with a public visitation from 08:30 AM 09:30 AM inside of the Southcoast Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church celebrated by Father Albino.

Graveside Prayers and Burial to conclude services will be held at 11:00 AM inside of St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
