FALL RIVER ... George W. Harrop, 84, of Fall River passed away at home on, Wednesday, March 29, 2023. He was the husband of Theresa (Kurowski) Harrop, to whom he had been married for 64 years. Mr. Harrop was born in Fall River, a son of the late Frank and Florentine (Valcourt) Harrop and lived in this city all of his life. George was a veteran of the United States Airforce. He was employed by the City of Fall River as a Fireman at the city Incinerator for many years. After retiring from the city he went on to work part time driving a handicap transport vehicle for the Adult Day Care Center. He enjoyed 10 pin bowling, fishing, music, playing the original Nintendo, and spending time with his grandchildren and especially his great grandchildren. Besides his widow, he is survived by 2 daughters: Donna Sliwa of Fall River, and Susan Mello of Fall River, a brother Raymond Harrop of Ohio, 5 grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher and his wife Kathleen, Vanessa, Kerri and her husband Thomas, and Kenneth. 6 great-grandchildren: Evan, Isabella, Joshua, Colin, Allison, and Layla. He also had several nieces, and nephews. There will be a small service for immediate family members only.
