It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Giovannie Gonzague Abreu "Gio" who passed away on Monday, January 05, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at Rhode Island Hasbro Children's Hospital.

He was born on June 27, 2011, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Giovannie was a radiant light in his family's lives. Giovannie was the cherished son of Gamalier Montijo and Alejandrina Abreu Hernandez both of Fall River.

His undeniable spirit and zest for life were a testament to their love and guidance. Despite his tender age, Giovannie had a profound impact on those around him. His vitality, resilience, and joy in the simple pleasures of life were a continual source of inspiration.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a Public Visitation for Giovannie which will be held at the Southcoast Funeral Home, inside of the Ferreira Chapel, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723 on Monday, January 12, 2026, 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM. A Committal Service with prayers will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, 765 Prospect Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02720 at 1:00 PM.
