SWANSEA... Gladys E. (Sears) Bookman, 81, of Swansea passed away December 12, 2022, at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Silas H. Bookman. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Mildred (Brown) Sears. She has raised in Fall River and moved to Swansea in 1972. Mrs. Bookman worked for many years as a sales associate for the former Bradlees Department Store. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. in Fall River and enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting and puzzles. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children: Scott C. Bookman of Swansea and Rene M. Williams of Snellville, GA; her grandchildren: Courtney, Garrick, Craig, Connor, Zachary, and Ja-Rod; her great grandchildren: Rey, Riley, and Silas; along with many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frances Butler, Dorothy Lopes, Gertrude Bork, Mildred Garnet, Patricia Graham, George, William, John, and Robert Sears. Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 4 PM at Bethel A.M.E. 146 Hanover St, Fall River, MA 02720.
