Glender Smith, born on December 12, 1964, was a radiant beacon of love, support, and thoughtfulness. Her spirit was as warm as the sun, and her kindness as refreshing as a cool breeze on a summer's day. She was the daughter of the late Alberta Black and James Black.

Glender was a woman who poured her heart into everything she did, and all who had the privilege of knowing her felt the warmth of her soul. She had an unrivaled love for children, not just her own, but all children, and treated them as if they were her own. To Glender, her pets were not just animals, but her children too, such was the depth of her love.

Glender was a puzzle enthusiast, the quiet rustle of puzzle pieces on a table was her symphony, and the joy of finding the missing piece was her triumph. She loved the tranquility of nature, the simple pleasure of feeling the sun on her skin, and the peace that comes from being outdoors. Glender found joy in the simplest things; a long drive on a quiet road, the infectious laughter of those around her, and the comfort of being the rock to those she loved.

Glender is survived by her beloved wife Lena Liebgoot, her loving daughter, Alberta Smith,, her caring sisters, Barbara Adams and Georgia Eggleston, and her brother, Andrew Smith. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with many cousins and brothers and sisters in-law. She was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Smith.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation which will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 01:00 PM - 02:00 PM at the Southcoast Funeral Home inside of the Ferreira Chapel located at 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723. The funeral service will follow at the same location 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM.
