With hearts heavy yet full of love and respect, we celebrate the life of Henrique Amaral, born in Povoacao, Azores, Portugal on April 17, 1962, and who peacefully passed on September 27, 2026. Henrique was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew him, characterized by his funny, reliable, generous, and dedicated nature.

Henrique spent over three decades serving the Southcoast area as a beloved taxi driver, a profession he cherished. His dedication to his work was a testament to his love for his community. He was the owner of a successful taxi company, a venture he was deeply proud of. A sports enthusiast, Henrique found joy and excitement in the spirit of competition and camaraderie. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Henrique, with his warmth and generosity, certainly made many lives easier and brighter.

Henrique held a special place in his heart for his animals, particularly his cat, Smokey, who was more than a pet but a dear friend. His love for his family was just as profound. He is survived by his son, Shaun Ferreira and grandsons, Kingston and Chance Ferreira; his siblings, Lubelia Decosta, Daniel Xavier, Jimmy Xavier, Mario Xavier, Glória Xavier, Dennis Xavier, Odelia Raposo, Joe Amaral, Eddie Amaral, Dinarte Xavier, Aida Dasilva. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dionisio and Maria Amaral; and siblings, João Xavier, Stella Raposo, and Tony Amaral.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation and funeral service for Henrique which will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Southcoast Funeral Homes, inside of the Ferreira Chapel, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723. The visitation will be 05:00 PM - 08:00 PM, followed by a funeral home service presided over by Father Michael Racine at 6:30 PM.
