It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Henry Eugene Holik of Fall River, MA.

Born on the 30th of June, 1935 in Fall River, MA, Henry passed away on the 13th of March, 2025. A man of many talents, Henry was a beacon of light to all who knew him. He was a devout Catholic and patriot, having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. As J.K. Rowling once said, "It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities," and Henry's choices throughout his life exemplified his deep-rooted principles of faith, service, and community.

Henry was a graduate of B.M.C Durfee High School, A retired U.S Navy Serviceman. He proudly served in the USN along with his brother Stanley aboard the submarine tender U.S.S. Fulton (AS-11) in New London, Connecticut. He was an engineering Yeoman and served under LCDR Ray H. Nichols up until his Honorable discharge from the service.

He attended the Cambridge School of Broadcasting and Dale Carnegie of Boston. Famous writers School of Westport, CT majoring in non fiction writing. He also completed numerous courses in marketing. He accumulated many media credits - including two stints with the Boston Red Sox as a Statistician and later in its marketing department.

Henry proudly wrote and produced a one hour TV special titled "Big 8 Football" featured on CBS on Thanksgiving Day prior to the Green Bay Packer-Dallas Cowboys games. His guest was Hall of Famer Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch then athletic director at the University of Wisconsin.

Henry was a retired TV sportscaster, a testament to his lifelong love for sports and media. His career in broadcasting brought joy to many, providing them with memorable moments of athletic triumph and camaraderie. He was known for his engaging personality and his ability to connect with his audience. His love for his job was evident to all who knew him, and his passion for media went beyond his work. He enjoyed reading, discussing, and spending time with anyone who aspired to work in media, often sharing his experiences and offering words of wisdom.

Henry was never married, but he was surrounded by a loving family. He was the brother of the late Stanley Holik, Irene Ferreira, Charlotte Holik, Emily Godonowicz, Ann Brightman, and Joseph, John, Walter, Frank, and Eugene Holik. He also was predeceased by his loving companion Dorothy Soczek "Miss Senior Sweetheart of America - 2012". Henry was a beloved figure in his community, known for his kindness, generosity, and enduring spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanislaw and Katarzyna (Paruch) Holik.

A public visitation for Henry will be held on Monday, 24th of March, 2025 from 08:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the Southcoast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723. This will be followed by a Catholic Funeral Home Service at the same location at 10:30 AM. A Committal Service with Military Honors will then take place at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Cemetery and Mausoleums (Mausoleum Side), 1540 Stafford Road, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02721.
