Jonathan
Owens
Sep 11, 1962 — Oct 7, 2025
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jonathan Earl Owens, known to us as Jonathan, on October 7, 2025. Born on September 11, 1962, in Brandenburg, KY, Jonathan was a beacon of strength and determination, embodying the quote, "The strength of a man isn't seen in the power of his biceps. It's seen in the love with which he embraces you."
Jonathan lived his life as a testament to this spirit. A proud US Army veteran, he was not only strong in physique but also in character. His resilience and willpower were unmatched, fighting through sickness for over ten years with unwavering determination. Jonathan was a handyman by trade and possessed a mastery of welding and repair that was second to none. Outside of work, he was a lover of the outdoors, finding peace and tranquility in fishing and hunting. Despite his lowkey demeanor, Jonathan had a larger than life personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a devoted family man, cherishing his wife, Nicole Owens, his five children, Lateisha Wilson, Jonathan P. Owens, Nicholas Owens, Vanessa, and Christopher, and his three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his father, John Owens, and mother, Patsy Miller, Jonathan leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.
His memory will be honored in a public visitation on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 08:30 AM - 09:30 AM at the Southcoast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at the same venue at 09:30 AM presided over by Chaplain and Life Celebrant Ines Bates. His service to the country will be recognized with a Committal with Military Honors at 11:30 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, Massachusetts.
We encourage all who knew Jonathan to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page, as we remember and celebrate the remarkable life he led.
