Jose "Joe" M. Calouro, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 1st, 1950, in São Miguel, Açores. He was the son of the late Evaristo and Diamantina Moniz. Jose was predeceased by his son, Paul Calouro.

Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Calouro and his stepchildren, Jeanna DaCosta (husband Michael) and Scott Correia, Daughter-in-law, Jill Calouro, three grandsons, Brandon, Jacob, and Zachary, and his cousin, Manuel Melo. Jose also leaves behind many friends.

Jose served seven years in the Portuguese Army. He emigrated to the United States in 1974. He worked as a landscaper for many years but his love of gardening continued long after his retirement. Jose was a caring man who had a great sense of humor. Jose enjoyed watching movies, especially Westerns, and listening to music. The radio was on around the clock in his home. Jose also enjoyed caring for his cats and birds.

A memorial mass will be held at Amicable Congregational Church on 3736 Main Road, Tiverton, Rhode Island, on Monday June 2nd at 10:00 AM with a collation to follow. Family and friends are invited to attend
