Jose M. Gaskell, born on February 26, 1977, in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was a man of resilience and wit. His life journey ended on November 23, 2024, but his spirit lives on in the memories of those who knew him. A reliable and smart personal care attendant, Jose served in the healthcare and home care industry, displaying a commitment and empathy that touched countless lives as a Personal Care Attendant. "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well," said Ralph Waldo Emerson. These words accurately describe the life that Jose led.

Jose was a man of many passions. He loved spending time in his shop, tinkering and creating. His office was his haven, a place where he could retreat and immerse himself in his thoughts. Despite being a man of action, Jose was never too busy to enjoy the lighter side of life. He had a fondness for his phone, often found exploring the world of Tik Tok, and was known for his dry sense of humor. His wit, combined with his intelligence, made him a joy to be around. He will now be reunited with his fur babies Tank the Cat, and Coco the Pitbull. He would always been seen with his animals, he loved the time he had when he was able to walk Tank and Coco.

The love story between Jose and his husband, Mark Gaskell, was one of enduring dedication. They met in Fall River, Massachusetts, and from the moment their paths crossed, they knew they were destined for one another. Their bond was inseparable, and for 31 years, their love story continued to unfold, each day a testament to their devotion. Their relationship served as a beacon of inspiration to all who knew them.

Jose was preceded in death by his father, Jose Da Silva, and his mother, Maria Relvinha. His husband, Mark Gaskell, survives him, carrying on the legacy of their love.

A Public visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 4:00 PM at the Southcoast & Boyko Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of Jose's life at 05:30 PM presided over by Chaplain & Life Celebrant Ines Bates at the same venue. "Celebrating A Life Well Lived"
