Obituary

Jose Davila, a loving father, courageous brother, and empathetic friend, passed away on October 19, 2025. Born on March 28, 1969, he filled the world with laughter and love, his zest for life remaining undiminished through his 56 years. His infectious humor, evident in his passion for practical jokes, was only matched by his unwavering firmness, a testament to his belief that love, even when tough, is the strongest bond we share. As Victor Hugo once said, "To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life."

Jose's supportive nature was evident in the way he lived his life. His love for working on cars was surpassed only by his love for cooking, especially anything to do with pork, a delicious tribute to his proud Puerto Rican heritage. Yet, his palate wasn't limited to his cultural roots; he found joy in the lyrical stories of American rapper Eminem, a symbol of his ability to appreciate the beauty in all cultures. True to his nature, Jose was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, an embodiment of empathy in its purest form. He was a social media stroller who loved Facebook.

Jose is survived by his mother, Emerita Davila, his older brother, Edwin Davila, and his second oldest brother, Miguel Davila. He leaves behind an irreplaceable void in the lives of his children, Ricky, Joshua, and Yamilet, and his grandchildren, Katelyn, Rosie, Yanelice, and Gabriella. His many nieces and nephews, each uniquely close to him, also mourn his loss. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Davila.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to a Public visitation which will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 09:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at the Southcoast Funeral Home, located at 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts. The funeral service will follow at the same venue at 11:00 AM, with a committal service to be held at 12:30 PM inside of the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River, MA.

In celebration of Jose's life, we encourage you to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Each shared memory will serve as a comforting reminder of the love and joy Jose brought into our lives.

As we remember his life, let's keep in mind the words of Albert Schweitzer, "The only thing of importance, when we depart, will be the traces of love we have left behind." Indeed, Jose's traces of love will forever be etched in our hearts.

Services are humbly entrusted into the care of Southcoast Funeral Homes "Celebrating A Life Well Lived"
