Joseph
Ozug
Oct 15, 1942 — May 15, 2025
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Ozug, who left us on May 15, 2025. Joe, a caring husband, loving father, steadfast friend and beloved member of the Somerset community, was born on October 15, 1942, in Fall River, Massachusetts. His life was a testament to the words of Henry Ford, who once said, "The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability."
Joe was a man of great knowledge and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a respected business owner of Brodeur's Service Station and Joe's Citgo in Fall River. He also worked for LaCava & Sowersby Auto Parts. Those who knew Joe admired his dedication to his craft, his honesty and his unwavering commitment to his customers. He was known for his remarkable ability to fix any problem with his hands and his extensive knowledge of cars. His shop wasn't just a place to get your car fixed, it was a gathering place where stories & jokes were shared and friendships were forged. The people whose lives he touched will remember him as a man of integrity and kindness.
Joe leaves behind his beloved wife, Julie Ozug, who was his constant companion and love of his life. Their bond was a beautiful illustration of love and commitment, and their story serves as an inspiration to all. Joe is also survived by two children: Joseph and Jennifer of Massachusetts, a sister: Patricia Chagnon of Massachusetts and brother: Matthew Ozug of Florida. He was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Matthew and Helena Ozug.
We entered the journey of marriage. We had good times and not so good. But we always had love. Maybe I didn't say "I love you" as often as you did. But I loved you very much. I will miss you. Rest in peace, my love. Julie

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joseph Ozug's name.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "It is not length of life, but depth of life." Joe's life was indeed deep, filled with love, friendship, and a work ethic that inspired all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. We invite you to share your treasured memories of Joe and upload any photos you may have to his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a lasting tribute to a life well lived.
