Obituary

With a heavy heart and profound respect, we honor the life of Joseph B. Silva aka. "Little Joe", who was born on the 11th of February 1954 in Feteiras, Sao Miguel, Azores.

He lived his life in Fall River, Massachusetts, and fell into eternal sleep on the 28th of May 2025. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die,'avers Thomas Campbell, and truly, Joe's spirit continues to dwell in the hearts of those who knew him best.

Joe was a Diman Regional Highschool graduate, where he studied to be an electrician. He would go on in his career working for Gemco electrics, and Teknicor until his retirement.

He enjoyed his family, friends, umpiring in the Columbus Park days, motorcycles, his garden, fishing, and his beloved dog Lucy.

Joe was the proud father of Joseph Desrosiers (Rhonda),and Shanda Melo (Bob), and grandfather to Joseph Desrosiers II (Kate), Mason Brewer, Bradley Melo, Madeline Desrosiers, Benjamin Melo, and the newest addition his great grandson Lincoln Desrosiers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria G. Silva and Jose B. Silva.

Those who knew him do not need to be told that he was a fighter. Please know for several months in the hospital, that is exactly what he did. He did not give up, and he "tried his best."

A visitation will be held on Tuesday the 3rd of June, 2025, 9:00-11:00 AM at Southcoast Funeral Home located at 1555 Pleasant street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723.
