Obituary

We are deeply saddened, yet also profoundly grateful, to celebrate the life of Kanthoun Pheng, who was born on August 7, 1947, in Cambodia, and passed away on November 19, 2025. Deeply rooted in his heritage, Kanthoun brought the rich tapestry of his Cambodian origins to Fall River, Massachusetts, where he made his home. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend, Kanthoun's presence truly enriched the lives of those around him. His dedication and hard work as an accountant for the Ministry of Technology was unparalleled, and his retirement years were filled with joy, love, and cherished family moments. As the poet Kahlil Gibran once wrote, "To be alive, to be able to see, to walk...it's all a miracle."

Kanthoun is survived by his loving wife, Sophi Huo, and their four children, Chivivan, Sophana, Thida, and Bonmey. Each of them will forever remember their father's quiet strength, unwavering love, and the lessons he imparted. Also left to honor Kanthoun are his beloved grandchildren, Sothearatth Choup, Keosothearath Chuop, Sokdarith Hach, Vanvisal Hach, and Monnymeath Pheng, who were the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his sister, Katheoun Pheng, and his sons-in-law, Sokah Hach and Kevin Hunt, who were like sons to him. His family's friend, Christopher Joyce, also shares in the family's loss.

Kanthoun was a man of integrity, unwavering faith, and boundless love for his family. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all those who knew him. It is a legacy of kindness, resilience, and a deep love for his Cambodian heritage. In the words of Albert Einstein, "Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life." Indeed, Kanthoun's spirit will continue to live on through his beloved family.

We invite those who were touched by Kanthoun's life to share memories and upload photos on the memorial page. This will help keep his memory alive and provide comfort to those who were privileged to know and love him.

Services are humbly entrusted into the care of Southcoast Funeral Homes at Ferreira Chapel "Celebrating A Life Well Lived"
