ROCHESTER... Karen E. (Place) Cole, 66, of Rochester passed away June 28, 2023, at Tremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wareham. Born in Acushnet, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Barbara (Turpin) Place. Mrs. Cole held many jobs over the years, most notably, she worked as a CNA, in sales for Yankee Candle and in the office for the Rochester Council on Ageing. She loved going to yard sales and tending to her many plants, both house plants, and outdoors. She enjoyed day trips to the casino and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Survivors include her son: William Cole of Forest City, NC; her sisters: Brenda Cunningham of Acushnet, Helen Medeiros, Barbara Place and Betsy Cornell, all of East Freetown; her brothers: Walter Place of East Freetown, George Place of Woonsocket, RI and Stewart Place of New Hampshire; along with many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Ashley Cole and sister of the late Susan Place. There are no services scheduled at this time.
