Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kevin Rioux, born on August 4, 1971, in New Bedford, MA, USA. His journey on earth ended on September 22, 2024. Kevin, a man of great strength, both physical and emotional, was a compelling character who left an indelible impact on everyone who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years," said Abraham Lincoln. By this measure, Kevin's years were indeed full, brimming with vibrant stories, cherished experiences, and the warmth of his infectious laughter.

Kevin dedicated a significant part of his life to the construction industry, where he built more than just structures; he built relationships, friendships, and a sense of community with his colleagues and clients. He was a man who understood the value of hard work and the importance of integrity in all things. His hands, toughened by years of labor, were always ready to lend a helping hand, to construct a shelter, or to embrace a friend in need. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Kevin embodied this principle, living his life full of honor, compassion, and making a difference.

Kevin is preceded in death by his loving parents, Richard and Emelia Rioux. Their love and teachings shaped Kevin into the man he was, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and a spirit of giving back, which will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched. As Mark Twain once said, "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." Kevin lived fully, fearlessly, and will be dearly missed.

We invite you to leave your own memories of Kevin and upload photos to the memorial page. Your precious memories and pictures will help keep Kevin's spirit alive in our hearts, reminding us of the remarkable life he lived.
