Kim
Mackin
Mar 28, 1954 — Jul 13, 2025
It is with heavy heart that we share with you the loss of Kim Mackin, Sunday, July 13, 2025 during the tragic Gabriel House Fire in Fall River, Massachusetts.
For those who didn't know her, Kimmie was a brilliant musician. After high school, she received a full ride scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music where she continued to grow playing the viola and studying voice. After graduating, she was offered several tours which took her around the world as first chair viola. She toured in Israel, Spain and other parts of Europe as well as Mexico City. During the latter part of her career as an instrumentalist, she played in the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Les Misérables (Boston) Musical.
Kim's memory, legacy, and amazing talents will be carried on by her family, she is survived by her nephews Austin, and Tyler, and her sister in law Shari. She was predeceased by her brother, and both parents Elizabeth and Thomas Mackin.
A quote from Kim's sister in law "Kimmie has been on my mind for the last few weeks as I continue to "downsize"..."looking at pictures, flash back memories, and how sweetly she sang and effortlessly captured an audience with the sonorous sound of her viola. She was truly gifted and is blessed to have heard her play and sing. She is so missed."
Services are humbly entrusted into the care of Southcoast Funeral Homes "Celebrating A Life Well Lived"
