Laura
Cordeiro
Jan 30, 1954 — Oct 27, 2024
On Sunday, October 27, 2024, the world bid a heartfelt farewell to a ray of sunshine, Laura Cordeiro, born Laura Aguiar, on January 30, 1954, in Fall River, MA. Laura was a compassionate spirit whose warmth was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her thoughtful nature and supportive presence were her guiding lights, illuminating the lives of those around her.
Laura dedicated 45 years of her life to the healthcare field, retiring from Charlton Memorial Hospital in 2018 as a Central Processing Technician. Her work ethic was unparalleled, and her loving nature made her a cherished part of her workplace. But it was outside the hospital walls that Laura's true passions came alive. A master baker, Laura's birthday cakes were eagerly anticipated by her family. She had a knack for knitting and found immense joy in crafting for those she loved. Laura's daily walks up and down Pleasant Street with her beloved chihuahua, Simon, were a cherished routine that brought her peace and happiness.
Laura was a loving widow of John Cordeiro and a devoted mother to their son, John Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Agnes Aguiar. Laura leaves a legacy with her sister Agnes Raposa of Dartmouth, her Goddaughter Robin Gibbs of Tiverton, great nephew Evan Brum of Dartmouth, great niece Brittany Costa of Fall River, and her great great nephews Nicholas and Charlie of Fall River.
Laura's family was the cornerstone of her life; their shared moments of love and laughter will forever be etched in their hearts. As Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
A public visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Southcoast Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10:00 am at Espirito Santo Catholic Church, followed by a Committal Service with Chapelside Prayers at 11:15 am at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Laura's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and resilience. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her life's story will forever remain etched in the hearts of her loved ones. To those who had the privilege of knowing Laura, we invite you to share your memories and upload any photos you may have on her memorial page. May her memory be a blessing and provide comfort during this time of sorrow.
