Obituary

Leonardo Todman Cornelius, 84, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the AccentCare Inpatient Center in Milton, Massachusetts.

Born on March 10, 1942, in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, Leonardo later immigrated to the United States, where he began building a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

After arriving in the United States, Leonardo met his beloved wife, the late Dorothy Matthews Cornelius. The couple was united in marriage in 1974 in the Bronx, New York. Together, they welcomed their children, Deborah C. (Cornelius) Baruch and Andrew S. Cornelius.

In 1980, Leonardo relocated his family to Boston, Massachusetts, where he continued his spiritual journey and was ordained as a minister under the Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church. A devoted man of faith, Leonardo dedicated much of his life to ministry, participating in religious speaking engagements and officiating numerous weddings and christenings. His commitment to his faith and his desire to serve others remained an important part of his life.

Professionally, Leonardo was employed by DuPont, where he served as Manager of Environmental Services. He dedicated many years to his career before retiring following the company's acquisition by Elmer Perkins.

Outside of his professional and ministerial responsibilities, Leonardo enjoyed traveling, participating in church outings, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his loved ones. He especially cherished family gatherings and sharing meals with those closest to him. His love for family, devotion to his faith, and commitment to his community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Leonardo leaves behind his loving children, Hillary Ann Williamson, Deborah C. (Cornelius) Baruch, and Andrew S. Cornelius; his cherished granddaughter, Emmora Clifton; and other family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Matthews Cornelius, and his cherished grandson, Aqueil Green.

Leonardo's legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live on through the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
