Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lucille Dinah Silvia (née Morin), affectionally known by family and friends as Lucy, on October 19, 2026. Born on July 28, 1945, in Fall River, MA, Lucille was an ambitious woman with a heart as vast as the ocean that surrounded her beloved residence in Middletown, Rhode Island.

Lucille's life story is a testament to the values of compassion, courage, and intelligence. She was a smart and independent woman who carried these qualities throughout her life, from her youthful days in Fall River to her golden years in Middletown. These traits were evident in her career in the foodservice industry where she worked tirelessly as a waitress, always greeting customers with her trademark warm smile. In her retirement, she found joy in cooking for her family, a hobby that not only showcased her culinary skills but also her innate nurturing spirit.

Her ambitious nature and strong work ethic did not stop at her professional life. As a mother, Lucille was a beacon of strength and resilience. She was deeply committed to her three children, instilling in them the same independence and courage that she embodied. The love and lessons she shared with her children will continue to live on, a testament to her enduring influence.

Lucille is survived by her children, her daughter Doreen Machado, her son Wayne Silvia his wife Jennifer, and her son Steven; her brother, Charles Morin; her ex-husband, George Jr.; her granddaughters, Jennifer Machado and Ashley Silvia; her great-granddaughters, Athena M. St. John, Ruby St. John, and Lilah Silvia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile and Edna Morin; her brothers, Emile Morin, Paul Morin; and her son-in-law, Robert Machado.

Lucille's life was a living example of the adjectives that best describe her - ambitious, compassionate, courageous, and smart. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

In honoring Lucille's life, we encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page. This will serve as a comforting reminder of the love and warmth she brought into our lives.
