FALL RIVER ... Luis M. Gamboa, 93, a resident of Fall River since 2001, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013. He was born in the Azores and was the widower of the late Maria L. Medeiros Gamboa. Luis was the son of the late Alfredo and Guiomar (Martins) Gamboa. Luis enjoyed watching soccer, collecting coins and stamps, loved to read and spoke many languages. Survivors include 2 daughters: Maria Filomena Ruff of Austria and Maria Margaret Furtado of Fall River, 1 son: Luis M. Gamboa and his wife Maryann Martelly Gamboa of New Bedford, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Fernando Gamboa and the late Alda Gamboa Guedes. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, at 8:00 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Holy Name Church, Hanover St. Fall River.
