With deep sorrow, yet with much gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Lynn Johnston, who left us peacefully on October 1, 2024. Born in the picturesque town of Dunoon, Scotland on April 2, 1972, Lynn's journey of life was as vibrant and captivating as her birthplace. Her life was a testament to the words of Helen Keller, "Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it."
Lynn's journey led her to make her home in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, where she was affectionately known for her indomitable spirit, undeniable strength, and infectious zest for life. Despite being physically disabled, she didn't let it define her. Instead, she embraced her circumstances with grace and resilience, teaching all who knew her that the true measure of a person is not in their physical abilities but in the capacity of their heart and the depth of their spirit. She lived by the poignant words of Albert Einstein, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."
Lynn is survived by her loving mother, Marie Johnston, who was her pillar of strength and the source of her unyielding courage. Her father, Iain Johnston, preceded her in death. Their bond and shared memories remain an unbroken thread of love that weaves through the tapestry of our hearts.
Lynn's life was a beacon of hope, resilience, and unyielding courage. She touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and fortitude.
