Madeline A. (Valliere) Wilding, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on June 7, 1946. Madeline was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of those who knew her best.

Raised in Tiverton, Rhode Island, Madeline was the daughter of the late Roland V. Valliere, Mary Alice Valliere Dufour, and stepdaughter to the late Frank Dufour. She attended Durfee High School. She married in August 1965 to her loving husband, David N. Wilding of Tiverton, she began to build her cherished family with 4 children. David, Scott, Robin, and Rebecca. She dedicated herself to her children and worked as a seamstress at Chase Curtains in Fall River, where she discovered her love of sewing. She later worked at Macy's where she was a manager and then St. Anne's Credit Union. Madeline also owned and operated R + R Hobbies out of her home, where she molded and hand painted ceramic models for many years. Madeline was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Fall River.

Madeline was a skilled seamstress whose talents were called upon by local schools of dance where she was often commissioned to created costumes for their recitals. She loved what she did and later used her skills to create Halloween costumes and other items for her 10 grandchildren, showcasing her creativity and attention to detail. In retirement, she used her skills with needle and thread to create stuffed animals of all sorts and sizes to be cherished by her 3 great-grandchildren as well as selling them at the local craft fairs where she could share her creations with other families as well.

Madeline's love for life extended well beyond her artistic pursuits. She was an avid traveler and loved to take cruises and visit different parts of the country. She dreamed of traveling to England, and that dream came to fruition in 2021 where she was able to spend 4 weeks traveling and exploring through London, Liverpool, as well as the Irish countryside, a trip she cherished and shared memories about often. Her home was filled with photos of her excursions and her cherished family. She had a wanderlust that she shared with her late husband David, and they frequently took trips together including Mexico, Florida, Hawaii, and many cruises, that surely inspired the next generation to get out and explore the world as she had.

Above all else, Madeline loved her family. She is survived by her 4 children, David Wilding (wife Paula) of Tiverton, RI; Scott Wilding (wife Cheryl) of Fall River, MA; Robin Molleur (husband Robb) of Portsmouth, RI; and Rebecca of Middletown, RI. Her 10 beloved grandchildren, Zachary Wilding (partner Kayla Barbosa) of Tiverton, RI; Joshua Wilding (wife Jessica) of Fall River; Jessica Rose-Wilding (partner Tom Moniz) of Tiverton, RI; Jared Wilding (partner Ashley Lorgeree) of Fall River, MA; Alec Wilding of Fall River, MA; Matthew, Nathan, and Jason Molleur of Portsmouth, RI; Zoe, and Jacob Magrath of Portsmouth, RI; as well as 3 great-grandchildren: Ayla, Nora, and Landon.

Madeline was predeceased by her brothers Robert, Roger, and Roland Valliere, and her sister Irene Yancy. She leaves behind a sister Clara Jean Ames of Bolton, CT and a brother, Ronald Valliere of Fall River, MA as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her dearly loved husband of 48 years David N. Wilding of Tiverton, RI before his untimely passing in 2013.

Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a public visitation on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Southcoast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant, Fall River from 08:30 AM 09:30 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM inside of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 951 Stafford Road, Fall River. Burial will follow at 11:15 AM at the Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Road, Fall River.
